Dear Members of DocGotGame’s, Oxford’s, and Blackboa’s Communities,
If you don’t know me, my name is Blackboa, and I have been an MMORPG enthusiast for as long as I can remember. Starting with Ultima Online, I have played nearly every MMORPG you can imagine. We are now about to embark on a journey together on a brand new MMORPG called New World. Many of you are as excited as I am for this game to launch, and I am honored to be the co-guild leader of the guild with DocGotGame and in an alliance with Oxford. It has been decided that I will play the role of the Governor for purposes of leading our Company (guild) in New World.
One of the most important elements of this new MMORPG is the system of territory ownership known as settlements. These settlements provide an interesting game play loop for all players, regardless of who owns them. The owner of the settlement however is who dictates what will be built and what will be upgraded. The owner also gets to choose who defends the territory during attacks made by PvP factions or PvE invasions. This is important because certain towns will specialize earlier than others in certain professional crafting stations. To this end, we have a big decision that we have made. Our Company will strive to become one of the first Company’s (if not the first company) to claim a settlement on the server we choose.
This goal of ours will require members of our company to contribute their first 1,000 gold to the guild. During the most recent open beta, I was able to see first hand how much it costs to claim a settlement and the total cost was 100,000 gold. Since there is a 100 player membership cap per company, I simply did the math to get us to the 1,000 contribution level per person. This should not take long for our company to achieve as we have seen during the beta that some company’s were able to claim territories within the first 8 hours of live service.
Since I am the Governor of the Company, each 1,000 contribution will be sent to me and I will be the one to track each contribution (on a spreadsheet) as well as ultimately claim the settlement in our name. This process of sending gold to people is quite easy. There is a give coin button on the inventory interface next to each individuals gold totals that you can instantly press to send coin to me directly. I will also coordinate with Oxford in regards to contributions made through our alliance partners.
If our efforts can accomplish this one thing, we all will have a legendary memory and something that we can be proud of in the New World game right off the bat! It will spur enthusiasm for completing town board quests in the settlement that we own because we will be completing projects that WE want as a community. It will be a source of PvP content as well as we use our communities to defend against attacks waged by both other factions and also the PvE mode of invasions. It will give more meaning to the PvP faction quests as we are directly protecting our own motherland. This is not just about bragging rights, it is about enriching the player experience for all of our members.
This is our initial path. Please be ready to grind as soon as you log in so that we can achieve this goal. We have decided not to choose the largest streamer servers and instead to look for healthy servers that are active in PvP. Our server has not been named yet as the official servers have not been released. Our faction selection will depend on the layout of our server as we strive to be the underdogs wherever we go. The name of our company will be the “Lords of (insert server name)”. If the name is taken then we will do a variation thereof.
I once again want to reiterate what a pleasure it is to be co-leading our guild and alliance with DocGotGame and Oxford and their wonderful communities. We are gonna have some great memories and good times as we enjoy one of the most anticipated MMORPG releases in recent memory.
